CLI-MA – From Housing Manager to CLImate MAnager
Improving the energy efficiency in buildings is crucial for achieving the cli-mate goals both, in Poland (PL) and Latvia (LV). The highest backlog is in multi-family houses (MFH), where initiating and organizing refurbishment processes proves difficult. As part of the German project KLIMAVERWALTER (funded by the National Climate Initiative NKI), curricula and trainings for professional housing managers were developed; tailor-made trainings focus on implementing energy efficiency measures in MFH. Most MFH in the partner countries are managed by professionals, however, there is a lack of knowledge and experience on how to guide homeowners in MFH through building refurbishments. The action will profit from the fact that, in PL, skills and methods to reduce energy costs are much in demand during vocational trainings, and in Latvia, professional managers have to obtain a specific degree at university and complement the education/trainings with practical methods for organizing refurbishment processes and funds in MFH.
