KOPREA, Lithuania
The KOPREA project (2006-2010) aimed at training specialised professionals who can manage refurnishment projects in a holistic way (technical, financial, social) and be qualified partners for Lithuanian homeowners’ associations, and to develop the refurbishment market in Lithuania with a view to increasing the refurbishment rates in the country in the future. KOPREA was
funded by the German Federal Foundation for the Environment (DBU). As part of the project, experts from several Lithuanian cities were provided a modular training in Germany and Lithuania to become so-called residential building refurbishment managers (WGS). At the same time, the future WGS were involved in the supervision of concrete refurbishment measures and enabled to manage refubishment projects independently in the future. This way, renovation procedures in several multi-family buildings were accompanied in an exemplary manner and the advantages of energy-efficient building refurbishment were illustrated.
