Self-management in apartment buildings in Belarus

Between 2012 and 2014, IWO and the International Association for Real Estate Management IVIM led the project “Strengthening participatory forms of self-management of multi-family houses and civil society networks in the field of housing management in Belarus”, which strengthened IVIM’s efforts to support associations, projects and initiatives in Belarus in their commitment to self-management of multi-family houses and to professionalize housing management at national, regional and local level in the long term. IVIM’s network relations and activities with the previously separatly operating actors in these areas were consolidated. By cooperating with committed public institutions and authorities, IVIM initiated reform steps in the housing sector and introduced new forms of political dialogue between authorities and the civil society level regarding problems in the housing industry.
