Study tours to Germany and Estonia
Informative and instructive exchange not only works well in conversation in seminars and at round tables - it is particularly impressive and memorable when you can experience and see something new. We took this to heart and organised study tours to Bochum and Berlin (Germany) and Tallinn (Estonia) for our Kazakh and Uzbek partners this summer.

One study tours to the European Education Centre for Housing and Real Estate (EBZ) in Bochum, Germany, took place from 20 to 24 June 2022. The housing specialists from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan wanted to get to know German experiences in the field of vocational training in the real estate sector better, especially training in modern topics such as 'Digitisation in the housing sector', 'Energy efficiency in buildings', 'Energetic refurbishment of residential buildings'.

From 23 to 27 August 2022, we travelled to Berlin, Germany, with representatives of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan (MZhKO RUzb). The agenda focused on the practical approach to energetic refurbishment of the old housing stock of apartment buildings from the 60-90s. At the Kompetenzzentrum Großsiedlungen e.V., the Uzbek experts learned about and evaluated the results of the comprehensive modernisation of the serially manufactured housing stock. At the meeting with the German Energy Agency (dena), they deepened their knowledge of the energy-efficient refurbishment of residential buildings. Representatives of MZhKO RUzb discussed the further development of a pilot project in the city of Nukus, Uzbekistan, for the energy-efficient modernisation of a residential building with their dena colleagues.

The beautiful Baltic city of Tallinn, Estonia attracted us from 27 September to 1 October 2022 with the extensive and interesting expertise of housing managers from Estonia. The focus of the study tour was on the successfully implemented transformation processes in the field of housing management and modernisation of housing stock. Specialists from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan had a lively exchange with their Estonian colleagues on the training and qualification of housing managers, certification of specialists, well-developed technical standards for the maintenance of buildings, as well as on the energy renovation of housing stock and the work of housing managers' associations. The lively exchange of the representatives of the associations from 7 countries took place in the International Seminar within the framework of the study tour.
